|What is Fair Usage ?|
Normal usage means that you operate a personal or small business website that utilizes resources in a manner similar to most of our other customers. For example, the system requirements of large corporations are not equal to those of small business and their resource requirements would not be considered normal for our architecture. Another example would be the storage of large numbers of video or audio files that may be associated with a site require more resources to support than a normal personal or business website would require.
|Does my Java/j2ee base application should follow the Fair Usage Policy ?|
Yes, All your J2ee application should be compliance to FUP. Please understand the following FUP for your J2ee application.
- Only JSP/Servlet/HTML/AJAX/css.
- There should not be use of Thread/Timer in your application.
- it should not consume heavy resources.
- ideally, Student Projects, Demo Project, Small Project or any application which can be access one in a while are come in this category.
- Under some condition you can host String/Hibernate application in This category, for the you need approval from us.
- Your application can't upload more then 5 MB of data at a time.
Let’s end up with moral of FUP! Suppose you are free lancer developer or a consultant. You are working on set of projects one at a time. It's Okay. But if you have a team and your team is working on number of projects simultaneously. Then it is not fair, it's unethical. In this scenario other account can face performance issue. Now who can decide fair usage ?, Answer is 'you'. If you will use the resource as per your need then you and other account holder will get the best performance.
